SKF Cooper split roller bearings

  • SKF Cooper split spherical roller bearings have two symmetrical rows of rollers,(split roller bearing) a common spherical outer raceway and two inner raceways that are angled at an angle to the bearing axis. They are designed to carry heavy radial loads, combined or uncombined with axial loads in both directions.
  • These bearings are suitable for both locating and non-locating bearing positions of the shaft. Their split design makes them beneficial for mounting, dismantling and maintenance of challenging and inaccessible applications.
  • Split spherical roller bearings are used in many different heavy-duty industries, such as mining, mineral processing and cement.

Features and Benefits

  • SKF Split roller bearing automatic alignment

  • The SKF Cooper split roller bearings automatically compensates for misalignment of the shaft center and deflection of the housing or shaft, preventing excessive forces from being applied to it.

  • Supports all types of payloads

  • SKF Cooper split roller bearings can accommodate radial loads, axial loads in both directions, and combined loads.

  • For fixed or free ends

  • Conveyor belts
  • Ship propulsion systems
  • Fans and blowers
  • Cooling Beds
  • Continuous casters
  • Stackers and reclaimers
  • Plus many other applications

Loads are defined by their direction. Loads perpendicular to the shaft are called radial loads and loads parallel to the shaft are called axial (thrust) loads.

DGBB can carry axial loads in both directions, whereas angular contact ball bearings can only carry axial loads in one direction.

  • Seals and shields provide additional protection for the bearing components and help to improve and maintain lubrication.
  • In terms of sealing performance, sealed bearings rank best, followed by shielded bearings and finally open bearings.

Deep groove ball bearings are available in a large number of sizes with different seals, shields, cages, and greases.

Successful mounting is critical to the life cycle of your bearing. Proper bearing dismounting can safeguard other machine components and maintenance workers.

The bearing is at the heart of all rotating equipment, and the condition of the bearing often reflects how well a machine is running. Learn more about bearing damage and bearing failure – and how to prevent it.
