SKF suppliers are an important part of SKF’s future growth and success in creating and delivering customer value.
SKF works with world-class partners who can become an integral part of our demand-driven supply network. Our expectation of SKF suppliers is therefore to support our profitable growth by achieving sustainable operational excellence in all areas of our business.
SKF Qs – the supplier quality standard – applies to suppliers of products that have an impact on the quality of SKF finished products or the image of the SKF brand.
It also applies to manufacturers of bearing steels that do not supply SKF directly but are used in SKF rolling parts, suppliers of indirect materials and services, and manufacturers of machinery and related components.
This document does not replace or modify other terms and conditions or the relevant technical documentation provided by SKF.
SKF is as close to its suppliers as SKF is to its customers. Our goal is to synchronize our requirements to our suppliers using transparent and collaborative tools in all areas of our procurement operations.
Be an integral part of our supply chain: SKF optimizes information and product flow in a demand-driven world, increasing efficiency and profitability with dynamic tools that are truly collaborative. Discover what we can achieve together. Become an integral part of our supply chain with SKF’s New Supplier Delivery Concept (NSDC).
There are three different delivery models for suppliers: Supply Model A, B and C. Each model has its own principles and rules to fully cover all aspects of product flow setup for product availability and delivery.
SKF actively monitors supplier performance against the following key performance indicators (QCDIM):
– Quality / Cost / Delivery / Innovation / Management
Such QCDIM reports are used as a basis for decision making on future business requirements and may be shared with suppliers.
This QCDIM report includes A/B/C ratings for quality and delivery performance.
– Quality ratings based on number of complaints and ppm levels
– Delivery ratings based on the number of broken promises and delivery complaints
Suppliers shall report the results of agreed key measurements and related improvement activities. If requested by SKF, the supplier shall aim to improve SKF QCDIM satisfaction by suggesting improvements to the delivered product or process in use.
